AVAILABLE FOR THE FIRST TIME

I've never before offered to share my paintings nor have I made any available to the public. I've simply immersed myself in the flow of painting learning and exploring an evolving a new love that's already brought me much joy.

I launched this website in November 2021 as a way to share more and connect with the lovers of art. For an aspiring artist, it's wonderous energy to have the feeling, finally, after years of practice and stacks of studies in storage somewhere, that someone somewhere would be touched by a scene you created. The tiny fear of letting go of a scene that has meaning and memories to a soul, pales in comparison to the joy of knowing it will be enjoyed by others. It's time to share.

I'm glad you're here browsing : ) I hope that you will enjoy these works. May they inspire you to live more to the full every day!

Blustery Lake Lanier Oil Painting

This painting was painted almost exclusively with palette knife in late October 2021. At the time I've posted this, this painting is still drying, it's that fresh.

I had to setup in a unique spot close to the rocks but with my back facing the scene so that I could get close enough to the rocks and water given the uneven terrain. I would turn and paint, turn and paint.

It was a wonderful day painting at Lake Lanier. This plein air oil on canvas is one of my most recent larger sized works and one of my favorites. This was painted off of a point at West Bank park in Cuming, Georgia.

The day was overcast and cool with gusts of wind. Late afternoon light and shadows gave the water a silky, silvery, shimmery look. People were enjoying fishing on the point here. Water lapped against the large rocks that form the boundary between land and water.

My son was along for the adventure today exploring his new found love for painting in watercolor.

SUNNYSIDE

12" x 16" Oil Original on Canvas | Still Life

This painting was painted almost exclusively with palette knife in late October 2021. Super-thick paint with vibrant colors show the life that a small pot of sunflowers can bring to your deck and outdoor living spaces.

As we transitioned from Summer to Fall, I wanted to take a little Summer into the approaching cooler months. I've always loved sunflowers and though particularly the large-headed ones you sometimes see planted in a field, these smaller potted ones captivated my attention at our local nursery and so, came home with us to beautify our deck. But that was not enough. Before long, I found my palette and canvas waiting to capture the life of these. And, so I did.

This smaller painting will be the inspiration for a much larger version, coming soon.

DOCKSIDE SHRIMPERS

18" x 24" Oil Original on Canvas

This painting was painted almost exclusively with palette knife in early October 2021.

Inspired by a reference photo of a dockside scene in Daytona Beach, Florida. I worked with a limited palette of color on this one and was so happy with how it turned out.

Early evening glow of atmospheric light on the side of the boats is wonderful to watch unfold under the light pressure of a palette knife in motion. Smooth as butter, color mixing and final outcome are often a surprise to the artist. It's one of the things that make palette knife work fun- the wonder and anticipation of the outcome.

This smaller painting will be the inspiration for a much larger version, coming soon.
